Relationships: The CHIME That Echoes Around the World
Why does CHIME resonate with so many people? What’s the draw?
When many of our Members share with us what being a part of CHIME means to them, they are most passionate about the friendships they’ve developed here. Friendships that have spanned across years, organizations, and even borders. Members don’t join CHIME just for programming and resources, they come to CHIME for relationships that make both their personal lives and professional careers more fulfilling and successful.
While CHIME undoubtedly has much to offer—education, networking, collaboration opportunities, and services—it’s the people and bonds that matter most to so many. Without those human connections, Members don’t fully benefit from the things that are important to them, such as knowledge sharing, advancing their career, advocating for change, raising the bar on healthcare services or solutions, and, ultimately, improving healthcare.
Fertile Ground
Members and leaders of CHIME have thoughtfully developed a rich and supportive community where meaningful, lasting relationships can sprout, blossom, and flourish, where friendships last 10…20…dare we say…30 years! Many of our Members have been with us since CHIME’s founding, and they don’t stay for the food. They’re still here because CHIME is where their people are, and they are the people of CHIME.
The Power of Relationships…
“The power of relationships…is the reason I was able to do the things I was in my career.”
– Marc Probst, 2016 CHIME Board Member, 2019 CHIME CIO of the Year and CIO, ELLKAY
Time and time again, the message is absolutely clear. The power of relationships is invaluable to our profession.
We’re talking about the power of relationships, which can lead to competitive organizations working together toward a common cause—uniting across boundaries to build solutions for a higher goal of improving global healthcare.
The power of relationships that bring about inspiration and subsequently innovation. People thrive from the human connections they make with others—inspiring each other to be better and do better. We are energized by each other, and that energy translates to new innovations impacting healthcare and technology every day.
The power of relationships that results in a sense of belonging to a vital segment of the healthcare community—the digital health leaders who make it all work. These leaders can gain insights from one another’s experiences, learn from each other’s mistakes, gain the support they need to take on new challenges, find answers to questions they are facing, and develop solutions together to problems they all share.
We’re talking about the power of relationships that truly powers everything we do—and will do—together.
Keep on Ringing
CHIME is grateful to have been the place—from the beginning—where relationships in the healthcare IT space have formed and developed and are still just getting stronger. The reverberation is endless across people, organizations, and even industries. We are thankful for being a part of the relationships that have built new digital health solutions, enhanced entire hospital systems, expanded healthcare access, and improved communication between the healthcare organizations and countries of the world!
Let’s give a resounding “cheers” to another 30 years of relationships and connections within and beyond the CHIME family!
