Several publications announced award recipients and their accomplishments as part of their CHIME17 coverage. Modern Healthcare’s coverage included roundups on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2. HealthsystemCIO.com included an award roundup in addition to a Q&A with Board Chair Liz Johnson, an update for CHIME’s public policy team an articles on gender-related challenges and ways to improve providers’ satisfaction.
Modern Healthcare quoted CHIME member Michael Martz and CHIME Vice President of Federal Affairs Mari Savickis in an article published Oct. 28 about CMS guidance on data blocking. “What they issued yesterday doesn’t provide the level of clarification we needed,” Martz said in the article. “We are still at risk of doing what we think are our best efforts but under someone else’s perceptions be told we’re not, and then face penalties as a result.”
HealthsystemCIO.com issued a special report on Oct. 27 in advance the CHIME17 Fall CIO Forum. The report included a Q&A with CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell titled “Why We All Need to Think Bigger.” It covered many updates in addition to forum events.
Sean Murphy, CISO at Premera and chair of the AEHIS collaborative relationships committee, is quoted in an article published on Oct. 24 by the Information Security Media Group about the benefits of a partnership between AEHIS and the Medical Device Innovation, Safety and Security Consortium(MDISS). The report included a podcast with MDISS Executive Director Dale Nordenberg.
Becker’s Hospital Review reported Oct. 18 about the addition of three new members to the CHIME Board of Trustees. The new members will assume their positions on Jan. 1, 2018.
At least 15 publications ran articles about a telehealth report based on a survey by CHIME and KLAS Research. Modern Healthcare, Politico, Health IT News, Beckers Hospital Review, Fierce Healthcare, Health Data Management and others reported that the majority of healthcare systems planned to expand their telehealth offerings. The report was released on Oct. 10.
