CHIME Releases Timeline for 2019 HealthCare’s Most Wired Survey, Recognition Program
ANN ARBOR, MI, Feb. 11, 2019 – The CHIME HealthCare’s Most Wired survey will be open to participants in early April, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced today. The Most Wired program sets the standard for the healthcare IT industry by measuring the use of innovative and leading-edge technologies that improve health and care.
This will be the second year that CHIME has overseen the Most Wired survey and recognition program. In 2018, 647 participants representing 2,190 hospitals and health systems in nine countries submitted surveys. Of those, 254 received recognition for meeting or exceeding the high bar set by the Most Wired Governing Board.
“Last year we updated the survey to reflect practices that truly impact patient care,” said Bill Spooner, chair of the Most Wired Governing Board and retired CIO at Sharp HealthCare. “We also raised the threshold to be named a Most Wired organization. This year we revised the survey again and recalibrated the threshold to capture advancements in the industry. Our goal is to push organizations to continually strive for excellence.”
CHIME will make a preview PDF of the 2019 survey questions available online in March. CHIME will also release a high-level change document that maps differences between the 2018 and 2019 versions of the survey. The 2019 survey will open in early April and remain open for two months. Recipients of 2019 Most Wired honors will be recognized at the CHIME Fall CIO Forum, which will be Nov. 3-6 in Phoenix.
Each Most Wired participant will receive a customized benchmarking report that highlights strengths and opportunities for improvement. CHIME also will analyze the survey responses to produce a free industry trends report, which will be available on the CHIME website. In addition, CHIME is partnering with Modern Healthcare Custom Media to publish a supplement that lists all 2019 Most Wired recipients and articles that highlight best practices.
