Baptist Memorial Health Care Selects Optimum Healthcare IT & AWS for EHR Cloud Implementation
This cloud implementation is a major milestone in BMHC’s digital transformation
Jacksonville Beach, FL (November 27, 2023) Optimum Healthcare IT, a Best in KLAS healthcare IT staffing and consulting services company, announced today that Baptist Memorial Health Care (BMHC) has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its cloud provider and Optimum Healthcare IT to lead the implementation of its full electronic health record (EHR) on AWS. This collaboration will enable BMHC to enhance its digital capabilities and resilience while staying focused on its core mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services to its patients.
In October 2023, Optimum Healthcare IT successfully migrated Baptist Memorial Health Care’s on-premise EHR Alternative Production environment to AWS for Disaster Recovery (DR). BMHC’s further cloud implementation will improve operational efficiency, scalability, agility, resilience, and data security.
During the first activation of DR, Baptist observed EHR performance improvements in the range of 5-20% across various application performance metrics, said Tom Barnett, Baptist Memorial Health Care’s Chief Digital and Information Officer. “We’re incredibly excited about the selection of AWS and Optimum Healthcare IT. We look forward to working closely with both AWS and Optimum Healthcare IT to take the next steps toward our digital future.
By leveraging AWS’s robust cloud infrastructure and Optimum Healthcare IT’s expertise in digital transformation, BMHC aims to optimize its IT infrastructure and accelerate its journey to being a digitally driven healthcare organization.
Optimum Healthcare IT is thrilled to work alongside Baptist Memorial Health Care in its cloud implementation journey, said Curtis Hendrick, Optimum Healthcare IT’s SVP of Cloud Services. We believe that this collaboration will empower Baptist Memorial Health Care to leverage the full potential of cloud technology, enabling it to deliver high-quality care and improved patient outcomes.
AWS, a global leader in cloud computing, offers secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that will enable BMHC to not only run its environment effectively and efficiently but also provide access to advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence capabilities, which can help Baptist Memorial Health Care to better leverage ever-increasing data assets for the benefit of providers and patients.
