CHIME Statement on HIMSS CEO Appointment
ANN ARBOR, MI, July 26, 2017 – The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) today announced that Harold “Hal” Wolf III was appointed president and CEO. He will replace H. Stephen Lieber, who is retiring.

Hal Wolf’s depth of experience and leadership skills will help keep HIMSS at the forefront of innovation in health IT. HIMSS has played a prominent role in the development of health IT globally and continues to be a leading resource for health IT professionals and industries across the world. Hal, whose background includes leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente Foundation and The Chartis Group, has the vision to ensure that health IT contributes to healthcare solutions.
Under Steve Lieber’s leadership, HIMSS has brought together thought leaders from across the world at industry-leading conferences and other events. In recent years, HIMSS has been a generous partner to CHIME as we have broadened our outreach in Europe, Asia and elsewhere. We wish him well in this next stage of his life and thank him for his service to the community. We will miss him.
